Five Little Things

Happy Friday, dear friends, and more importantly, happy long weekend! I hope you are all ready for Memorial Day weekend. The importance of this weekend is not lost on me, and it will always be a priority for my family to truly remember the meaning of this holiday. But it is also the gateway to summer cooking, so if you have plans that require some menu inspiration, here are some of my favorite summer grilling recipes.

Five Little Things I loved the week of May 26, 2017: Memorial Day, recipes, and things to make you smile.

It’s been a week of some very sad events in the world, but I take comfort in the fact that there is still so much good out there, and there were a lot of things that made me smile this week. So, without further ado, here are Five Little Things I loved this week:

1. Pasta Salads

It’s pasta salad season! I loved revisiting this old favorite — I made so much, we’ve been eating it all week and gave some away. If you like spicy, you’ll love this Fireworks Pasta Salad! Also worth adding to the arsenal: Laurie’s Italian Bowtie Pasta Salad, Jean’s Pasta Salad with Arugula and Four Herbs, and Laura’s Pasta Salad with Homemade Dressing.

2. Those Silly Animals

If you need a good chuckle – and we all do – you’ve got to check out the hilarious winners of the First Annual Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards!

3. The Babysitter

Any parent knows the struggle to find a good babysitter is real. I have to say, if this show were real, I would have to watch it!

4. True Winners

In any race, there are winners. But I have to say, this little boy beats them all.

5. Awesome Teachers

It’s the end of the school year, and time to say thank you to our amazing teachers who do all that they do with our little ones. It really takes a special person to be a good teacher. Here is one very special – and hilarious! – professor. I wish I had him as a math teacher in college!

Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend!
