Five Little Things

The weekend is here. I have entered my busiest time of year, and life has thrown quite a few curveballs. I’m learning that 2020 is relentless! Right now, I am focusing on taking deep breaths, and on gratitute for all the little blessings. I am looking forward to our quiet Thanksgiving with phone calls to loved ones, and of course, all the cooking. It doesn’t matter if it’s just us, we will have all the dishes. I hope you and your families stay healthy and safe this holiday.

Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:

1. Food and Family

Thanksgiving has always been about my two favorite things in the world — food and family — the same two reasons I began sharing recipes on Kitchen Confidante over 10 years ago. I am so honored to be featured by Coravin this week, where I share my journey from growing up in New York, what urged me to cook for my family, and how it all eventually led to my career as a food blogger and recipe developer. ⁣

Come join me for a glass of wine and take a moment to join me as I share my story, traditions, how my Filipino heritage plays a role in how we celebrate today, and my must-make dessert!⠀⁣

2. Wine and Pie

Because dessert deserves the perfect pairing, too!

3. Move Over Gingerbread Houses

There’s new construction in town! Check out this clever twist!

4. Make Your Own Parols

Remember last week’s Five Little Things, where I shared Disney’s new Christmas ad featuring the wonderful Filipino custom of parols (star lanterns)? I love that they now have shared instructions for how to easily make them!

5. Good Humans

They do exist, and here is proof.

Stay joyful!
