Honey Yogurt Semifreddo

Semifreddo. Say it with me. It just rolls off the tongue, like honey, doesn’t it? Let’s say it again, together. Semifreddo. Italian is such a beautiful language. Who else could make the words for “half cold” sound so romantic? Well, perhaps the French. I guess…

Semifreddo. Say it with me. It just rolls off the tongue, like honey, doesn’t it? Let’s say it again, together. Semifreddo.

Italian is such a beautiful language. Who else could make the words for “half cold” sound so romantic?

Well, perhaps the French. I guess there is a reason why they are called romance languages.

I have been enamored with this Italian dessert for years and recently shared a recipe for a lighter version the other day on My Way Home by Wayfair. I can’t say enough good things about this semifreddo, made less guilty from Greek yogurt folded into a sweet whipped cream. Simpler than ice cream, and a little healthier, too, it is the perfect sweet treat for the warm weather ahead.

Come join me on Wayfair for a silky bite of Honey Yogurt Semifreddo.

Liren – your photos are amazing! I have never made semifreddo and you have inspired me to take a stab at it. The combination of honey, pistachios and yogurt is a perfect blend of flavors. Pinning!!!

Semifreddo is one Italian dessert I haven’t tried, but now you’ve convinced me. I love that you lightened this up with Greek yogurt, one of the most versatile ingredients around.

I agree! Love honey, and my newest obsession is creamy raw honey. I’m running over to check out your frozen honey cream – sounds dreamy!

YES. “Love”. I love semifreddo and you first introduced it to me almost ten years ago when we were brainstorming Thanksgiving desserts (2003). You had sent over a Nigella Lawson recipe back then, also honey semifreddo, and it was a great end to our heavy meal. (The next day, Tati was born!) As always: amazing photographs above!

I do remember this, clear as a bell! Nigella drew me into semifreddo, she can be so persuasive!
