Who Wants Fruit?

I’m officially at that point in the winter season when I have just about had my fill of cold and rain. I’m longing for the warm weather, and I’m especially antsy for the return of sweet local berries, apricots, melons, cherries and plums.
In the meantime, I shouldn’t complain. The Mandarin oranges have been exceptional lately.
They bring the sunshine I have been craving.
What about you? What summer fruits do you miss?
How adorable is that drawing :) I agree the mandarins have been lovely.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Well said. Your photography is just breathtaking!
Your photos even bring the sunshine into my dark and dank, windowless office here under the garage! That’s how good a team you and mandarins make. GREG
what an adorable art work… makes me remember when my kids would scribble something simmilar when they are little.. hmmm sweet memories.
I miss strawberries, peaches, and nectarines!! I just cannot wait for Spring and Summer. And Liren, your kids are so sweet and adorable!
The drawing is adorable. I can’t wait for summer too. I would love a really good catalope or watermelon.
it seems everyone is an artist in your family !!!
it seems everyone is an artist in your family !! great !!
I miss all of the stone fruits, especially fresh cherries and sweet strawberries.
Great pictures and the art. I cherish my grandchildrens art work.
I miss nectarines – they taste so different here in Cali! Now that I’ve started this blog, looking forward to trying out recipes for summer fruits :)
Manadarins are absolutely my favorite these days! I’m looking forward the summer fruit though but more because I want it to be sunny!
I miss the stone fruits! Peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots…*sigh*
The imports are starting to come in though…not the same, but at least something to tide me over!
I love seeing kids art! It has such a genuine quality that adult’s art lacks. They don’t care about perfection of composition, technique, color…they just draw and color for the joy of it! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I miss summer! I miss going to the outdoor farmer’s markets! And I miss peaches and berries.
Kids have the best artwork, so simple and to the point. I love fruit, so I miss locally grown fruit, like strawberries, blueberries, and melons. Great pics!
Couldn’t agree with you more! These photos are beautiful. Citrus always make me smile (does that make me weird??) I miss big giant local blackberries!
Peaches and plums, I miss all the stone fruits, and berries as well. It’s my favorite season.
Love the drawing! And your gorgeous photos!
I miss berries, especially blueberries. I’ve been eating frozen berries but it’s definitely not the same!
Blueberries, strawberries… peaches. I could use a big bowl of all of those combined.
What an adorable drawing! Thank you for sharing!
I adore the picture your kids made! And they included our household’s favorite summer fruit — nice, mouth-watering watermelon! :)
I love those little oranges….but what I miss most about summer are nectarines and peaches…..sigh.
I would love a good peach, the kind where the juice just runs down your chin….
I love your kids’ artwork! An your photography is amazing!
Yes, I sure do miss summer foods–especially strawberries and tomatoes from the garden,
LOVE the artwork! I have seen their work first hand and I must say they are very creative – little picasso’s in the making. I miss a juicy peach that is golden inside and just so perfect. Love your photos!!!
Children’s artwork are true masterpieces! The weather has been quite nice here, so I don’t have too much to complain about. Plus, I am trying out fruits that I haven’t tasted in ages or ever. But berries are scarce or very pricey here – those are the fruits that I’ll be missing this summer.
