By the time you read this, I will be strolling the streets of Paris, on the hunt for all the puffed pastry and sweet confections I missed a few months ago. It will be a quick visit this time, since we plan on hopping on the train to spend more time in the south, to find a little relaxation near the shore. Who am I kidding, I know it will be busy and crowded, but I plan to embrace it all as part of the charm.

The last time I was in France, one of the things that struck me as we shopped at our local Monoprix was the sheer variety of yogurts in the dairy aisle. Of course, we have quite a selection ourselves here in the States, but what I loved about the yogurts in France are the adorable glass jars, with their glistening fruit-on-the-bottom layers under layers of not-too-sweet French yogurt.

These Mixed Berry Fruit-on-the-Bottom Yogurt Cups are made with a simple compote that you can whip up in minutes (if you have extra, try them on pancakes and oatmeal, and layered with your favorite plain yogurt — I prefer a thick Greek-style yogurt, but use what makes you happy.
