It’s almost Easter, but we’ve already been giving our sweet tooths some advance training with jelly beans. My daughter had a field trip to the Jelly Belly factory, and my hubby was brave enough to chaperone (what a good daddy!). My sweet duo brought home quite a haul of Jelly Bellies, to my glee.
It’s hard to pick favorites, but if asked, we all have our special flavors. My daughter adores Dr. Pepper and all the soda flavors (these are the only sodas she’s allowed to have). My little guy loves Tutti Frutti or anything tropical. For my husband, Very Cherry rounds out his top picks, which basically includes most of the fruit flavors.
Me? Buttered Popcorn. Love, love, love it. And all the mixed drinks. I would be happy with Buttered Popcorn and a mix of Pina Colada and Margarita jelly beans.
How about you? Do you have a favorite Jelly Belly?
My all time favorite is Cotton Candy, but the other one that I love is Juicy Pear. It tastes EXACTLY like a pear! They even have a slightly “gritty” feel to them like a fresh pear has. If you haven’t tried one yet, you must.
BTW – Love the Jelly Belly tour. I get bags of belly flops to use as a reward in my classroom :)
My French Fries are getting Jelly Bellies for Easter that I scored at a local Parisian grocery store! Big Fry got some on his first trip to the States and to this day, all “bonbons” are called “jellybeans”.
Great blog — I’ll be back for more.

My top 3 Jelly Belly flavors:
Toasted Marshmallow
Lemon Lime
Chocolate Pudding (do they still make that flavor?)
The GROSSEST 3 Jelly Belly flavors:
Tutti Frutti (tastes like Bubble Gum)
Bubble Gum
Green Apple – eww!
Oh i love the popcorn and watermelon ones.
After one of our manager meetings, my boss surprized us with a trip to Jelly Belly factory. Since they are one of our clients, we were fortunate enough to get a solo tour. Facinating how the process works. They gave us tastes along the way and even had the “yucky” flavors. My top 3 favorite flavors are: coffee, bubble gum and raspberry! Have a great week!
Just saw on “Kid in a Candy Store” that they’re doing dark chocolate covered Jelly Bellys now. Now, if I had those, those would be my favorite! Yum! How about dark chocolate covered marshmallow jelly belly? Or dark chocolate covered espresso jelly belly? I could go on and on!
Ooh! Love those ideas, especially the dark chocolate marshmallow jelly beans! I forgot to mention I have a new favorite that I’ve been noshing on this week – their Cappuccino Jelly Belly!
Jelly Bellys are just the cutest little jelly beans ever! My husband loves the buttered popcorn. I am of the red variety…berries and such. Mmm
Speaking of red jelly beans – I’m loving the Pomegranate flavor, too. Have you tried this one?
There is something about that buttered flavor, eh?
Just love the fake buttery flavor!
Ugh…I never had jelly beans. I guess I should start my own investigation :)
Oh Sara, you must. If I never get to meet you in person, I will bring you some :)
OH MY GOSH! I am simply amazed I’ve come across another person who’s favorite JellyBelly is buttered popcorn. I thought I’d never see the day. :) Seriously, I usually get the strangest look when I tell people popcorn is my favorite and then they proceed to shove all of the spotted yellow beans my way.
I’d love to make a trip to the JellyBelly factory one day. I love JB’s so much, I had “JellyBelly76” as my AOL handle back in the day. It was very sweet of your daughter & husband to bring back a box for you!
How cute! Did you really use that as your AOL handle?? :) Buttered Popcorn is absolutely one of the best flavors ever – but I guess it’s either you love it or hate it. Oh well, more for us!
I love jelly beans too! I love grape, cherry and orange – I know that sounds so generic but I just love the tried and true basics :-)
No, I totally understand, there’s something about “the basics” when they’re done well!! You sound like my husband, he’s more of a jelly bean purist.
I’m not a huge jelly bean fan, but when I want some my faves are pear, marshmallow, pina colada, and strawberry daiquiri.
lovely picture bubble gum flavoured is my favourite
Years back, my lola & aunts used to send us care packages (balikbayan box). Besides the usual candy bars, jelly beans are in there. Love at first taste for licorice, isn’t that weird? LOL No one in my family liked it so more for me. Today my boys are not into licorice as well so lucky me ;)
I like the cotton candy and the bubblegum… nothing like candy flavored candy :)
I am a Tutti Frutti gal….
That’s too funny! As I started reading this post, I was thinking about my favorites: buttered popcorn, pina colada, and margarita… all of which I can recall enjoying from an early age. Maybe that’s why I love my cocktails so much… and buttery movie-theater popcorn. :-)
