Today I want to share with you a cause that means so much to me – and how we can all make a difference to end hunger in our own small way, by joining Kraft Heinz #FeedTheWorld2017.

We took a family trip back to NYC last week, where I grew up, to see family and to revisit old haunts. As we wandered the streets, and pushed our way onto crowded trains, it reminded me that my children don’t see the hard knock side of life very often. No matter how hard we try to instill in them a sense of gratitude and desire to help, when you live far away from the grit, it’s easy to forget.

The city is a harsh place, and I remember vividly the homeless man who used to sleep by my office, the look of gratitude in his eyes when I was able to share some of my food with him. It wasn’t much, I knew, but I hoped it would hold him over, for a little bit longer.

Tiny gestures, I hope, add up to big differences, and I wanted to tell you about a simple (and fun!) way you can make a difference to help end hunger.

This summer, I’ve been using my favorite Kraft Heinz brands for grill-outs and meals my family loves, and I was so happy to learn that there is a wonderful program underway right now that we can all be a part of.

Now through August 7, Kraft Heinz brands will donate a meal to Rise Against Hunger for every favorite or RT on the daily post of the day on Twitter. A simple favorite or retweet is all it takes — we can do that, right?

But there’s another fun way to help!

See the photo I made above? By visiting Kraft Recipes Feed the World and adding stickers to your photo, you can give 10 meals, just like that! So many people all over the country are helping to fight world hunger, and you can check it out on the interactive heat map — it’s so heartwarming to see how many people care! And it’s even more amazing to know that the program has already donated 420,000 meals, including 105,000 from retweets/favorites and the photo generator, to Rise Against Hunger to date, to people in need all around the world.

To make my photo, I thought it would be fun to photograph Kraft’s recipe for Sriracha Hot Dogs – not only is it a delicious recipe for your next barbecue, I thought it would be fun to play with the photo and add the ketchup sticker! But you can have so much fun with the photo generator – get creative and check out what other people have done.

As for this recipe — adding a little spice to your next cook-out is so easy with Heinz Sriracha Ketchup — I love the heat it adds to the Oscar Mayer franks! My family loved the spicy, cheesy twist on the classic hot dog, and I loved that I was able to choose Kraft Heinz brands to feed my family and donate meals to other families in need.

It’s super easy to help ‘Feed Your Family, Feed The World’ continue its fight against world hunger. From now until August 7, Kraft Heinz brands will donate up to 20,000 meals a day, including up to 5,000 from Twitter favorites and retweets and adding stickers to photos, benefiting Rise Against Hunger. Please join me! Here’s how you can help:

  • Give 1 meal through ‘Feed Your Family, Feed The World’ by favoriting or retweeting a featured recipe shared daily on @kraftrecipes on Twitter between 7/17 – 8/7.

Brian, this is why we get along. Sriracha is always on the table (along with all the hot sauces!) at our house :)
