Five Little Things I loved the week of August 7, 2026: chocolate sardines, the DMV(!), Odyssey spoofs, and more!

Trader Joe's sardine chocolates are one of the Five Little Things I loved the week of August 7, 2026.
Five Little Things

Well, here we are, one week into August! Isn’t it hard to believe? I’m getting ready for a little time away with the whole family. But the reality that school is starting soon is really hitting me, and I’m feeling that end-of-summer blues. Isn’t it wild how quickly this summer flew by? I take solace in the fact that our warm weather stretches to October, and it’s been so hot here that I made another batch of Orange Sherbet last night. My son is obsessed!

Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:

1. Sardine…Chocolate?

I will be sharing a new sardine recipe soon, but in the meantime, have you tried these adorable new milk chocolate sardines at Trader Joe’s? They’re creamy, with a light sea salt finish, and absolutely adorable!

2. National Farmers Market Week

We are celebrating National Farmers Market Week, but I personally love celebrating every week! I’m able to haul more now that my family gifted me with a small Hulken wheeled bag! It’s so handy! Here’s a peek at my favorite market in San Francisco.

3. DMV These Days

Ok, I generally don’t enjoy the DMV, but after my son’s experience at the DMV in another state, I had to share this with him. He agreed it was pretty accurate.

4. All the Odyssey Spoofs

I really loved the movie and have seen it twice since it came out! But perhaps what I love even more than the movie are all the creative skits on social media that were inspired by the Odyssey! There are too many to share here, but I imagine you’ve seen them, too!

5. The Perfect Aladdin?

Shaun Johnson’s Michael Jackson could very well be the best Aladdin!

Stay joyful!
