Five Little Things I loved the week of November 7, 2025: marathon runners, Minnesota hot dish, family visits, and more!

Kale and Quinoa Fall Salad with Pears is one of the Five Little Things I loved the week of November 7, 2025.
Five Little Things

How are you doing after the time change? After gaining an hour of sleep, I was feeling rather energetic this week, at least in the beginning, and found myself pushing harder at the gym and feeling clarity and focus with work. But now that we’re at the end of the week, I think it has all caught up with me! I’m ready to crawl under a blanket on the couch and hibernate for the weekend! Are you feeling this way, too?

Before I get ready to veg, here are Five Little Things I loved this week:

1. A New Salad to Love

I shared a new recipe this week! I have been testing and retesting my Kale and Quinoa Fall Salad with Pears, and it was finally ready to publish. It has been a versatile salad to partner with so many weeknight meals, and I love that it’s festive enough for a holiday table.

2. Next Gen Chef

I’m loving Next Gen Chef on Netflix! I love how they incorporate the instructors at the Culinary Institute of America.

3. Family Visits

Growing up, I took for granted having my extended family close by. Now, I rely on weddings and funerals to see my relatives. I was so happy to see my uncle and aunt this week, and am so grateful that they were able to swing by California to pay us a quick visit!

4. Sprinting to the Stage

Running the NYC Marathon is extremely taxing in and of itself, but for Broadway actor Jordan Litz, his day did not end after his run. Immediately after running the 26.2 miles through all five boroughs, he went straight to the Gershwin Theatre to perform in the 2 pm matinee, as well as the 7 pm performance! Whew!

5. Minnesota Hot Dish(es)

Sonny from the Best Ever Food Review Show has been all over the world, but he finally headed back to his mom’s kitchen in Minnesota to review the iconic dishes of his youth. This wholesome video may be one of my favorites from his whole catalog.

Stay joyful!
