Five Little Things
Five Little Things I loved the week of June 12, 2026: heirloom tomatoes, San Francisco’s last jeepney, The other Bennet Sister, and more!
Can you believe we’re already midway through June? I feel like summer is going by way too fast, and I know that once we hit the summer equinox, I’ll be mourning the slow loss of daylight as we progress through the season. It’s such a good reminder to enjoy every moment of every long day! This also extends to savoring all the incredible fruits and vegetables at our local farmers’ markets while they’re still available. I’d love to know – what produce are you most excited about this season?
Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:
1. Heirloom Tomatoes
The farmer’s market is so bountiful right now, and I am especially excited about the return of the heirloom tomatoes! I’ve revisited Tomato Salad with Corn and Kalamata Olives (a family favorite), and it’s so refreshing on these 90-degree days! I also plan to make Burrata with Heirloom Tomatoes and Roasted Tomato, Garlic, and Herb Soup soon.
2. Who’s Live Anyway
My week started off with a ton of belly laughs! My friend Amy and I went to the touring show Who’s Live Anyway, featuring the famous improv characters from the beloved show Who’s Line is it Anyway. It was hilarious!
3. San Francisco’s Last Jeepney
June marks Filipino Heritage Month, and I loved CBS’s feature on San Francisco’s Last Jeepney. To me, the jeepney is such a wonderful example of Filipino resourcefulness and creativity.
4. The Other Bennet Sister
If you love Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, chances are you have read The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow. And if you’ve read it, chances are you are loving BBC’s adaptation of The Other Bennet Sister as much as I am! I will be sad when it’s over!
5. Only a Mom
Deborah Kwek Gilbert cracks me up with her videos—moms everywhere will totally relate! By the way, she’s on part 7 of the getting-robbed series, but she may have enough material to keep going forever.
Stay joyful!
