Five Little Things

Five Little Things I loved the week of November 4, 2016 including an unexpected surprise in an artichoke, the tiniest Halloween costumes, and friendship.

Five little things I loved this week:

1. Little Surprises

It may not be spring, but we still love to roast artichokes — imagine my surprise this week when I sliced into an artichoke to find a ladybug crawling out! I wonder how long it has been living in there?

2. Trick or Treaters

Did you have a treat-filled Halloween? I had such a blast with the kids this year, and more than chocolate, I love seeing all the creative costumes out there! I love how the nurses at a NICU dressed their littlest ones in Halloween costumes, too!

3. Cubbies

Our love for Chicago and the Cubbies resurfaced with this year’s captivating World Series! Having lived there for a few years, you can’t help but fall in love with everything about it, including games at Wrigley Field. So happy for the Cubbies!

4. No More Political Ads

Between you and me, I am relieved that political ads will soon be off the airwaves. But I did find this piece on the familiar voices behind them very fascinating.

5. Nora and Mr. Dan

Friendship has no age limit, and little Nora and her friend Mr. Dan is proof.

Wishing you a weekend full of friendship and love!

It’s stories like this that need to be highlighted more in the media, and I’m so glad you loved Nora and Dan’s story as much as I did, Asha!
