Five Little Things
Five Little Things I loved the week of June 5, 2026: milestones, cherries, Broadway, and more!
Happy weekend, dear friends! I’m back from New York (again). I took the last few weeks off to focus on my family – there was a lot of road tripping and cross-country flights for all of us! My son is done with college and has already crisscrossed the country several times. And my daughter graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre, and we moved her to the Big Apple to start the next exciting phase of her life! Needless to say, there are MANY things I loved this week, but here are Five Little Things:
1. Milestones
As you can imagine, I’ve been feeling all the feelings these days. My kids are pursuing their respective passions, and this means a lot of time apart. I’m so glad we were all together to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation, and it was a family effort to move her out of her college apartment! Just a few days after cheering her on at commencement, she and I were on a flight to New York to get her settled into her exciting new life on the East Coast. I am so grateful to experience these milestones with them!
2. Cherries
Have you been enjoying the season’s cherries? I am picking up parcels whenever I can, whether it’s from the farmer’s market or grocery store, especially since I missed the window of cherry picking this year. If you have some cherries, be sure to set some aside for Homemade Cherry Pop Tarts (I have a new video for this recipe!), Cherry Basil Sorbet, or Cherry Wine Sauce with Ice Cream.
3. Remarkably Bright…Movie
On my flight to New York, I was excited to see how well the book Remarkably Bright Creatures would be adapted in the Netflix movie. I was not disappointed! I appreciated the little changes, and especially loved Sally Field in the role of Tova!
4. Broadway Fix
I was able to fit it a couple of shows during this trip! If you haven’t seen them yet, I highly recommend Maybe Happy Ending and Ragtime. I was truly moved, and both shows brought tears to my eyes for different reasons.
5. My Kind of Bachelor Party
While my husband didn’t have a bachelor party when we got married, I kind of wish he had this one!
Stay joyful!
