Thank you to everyone who participated in the Share Our Strength Taste of the Nation Napa Valley ticket giveaway! I can not express how touched I was by all of your warm words, whether it was a comment, a tweet or a message offline, and the plethora of suggestions for a new blog name. It has been an interesting week for me as I prepare to relaunch this blog and your kindness really meant a lot to me.
Without further ado, let me announce the winner of the Taste of the Nation Napa Valley ticket. The randomly selected winner was
But it turned out that Berna will not be able to attend, so I ran the contest one more time. The new randomly selected winner was

Not only do you have to find something you can identify with, you need to check if the domain is available, if any one else has laid claim to it on their own blog, or if it is trademarked (as I have learned the hard way). Both of your ideas were very, very close to being the final pick.
Ironically, the suggestion for the name I have decided on came from a friend that came by way of Berna, Mdivani of Ladies Who Lunch. Foodie Fashionistas will love his top picks for food and fashion in cities all over the world, and be sure to watch his videos! Mdivani is certainly someone with impeccable style, and he messaged me offline with what hit me as the perfect blog title:
In the very near future, you will be able to find me at kitchenconfidante.com. I should mention that I will be updating my Twitter handle to reflect the change. If you follow me on Facebook, unfortunately, I will have to start a new page all over again, so I hope you follow me there, too. So keep your eyes open – I hope to have the new site launched no later than Sunday May 30.
