Five Little Things I loved the week of September 24, 2022: avocados, sending boyfriends on errands, the best pizza, and more!

Avocados were on of Five Little Things I loved the week of September 24, 2022.
Five Little Things

Happy weekend, friends! I hope you’re getting some rest and relaxation. It was one of those weeks where I had my nose to the grindstone, so I am definitely looking forward to a little break! Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:

1. Avocados

I flew down to Santa Paula to visit my friends at Calavo Growers. I’ve been working with them as a brand ambassador (did you see the recipes for Avocado Popsicles and Avocado Veggie Sandwich?), and I was so warmly welcomed for a very personal tour to learn all about how they grow, harvest, package, and distribute avocados all over the world! As someone who eats avocados every single day, you can imagine how excited I was to learn how their family of growers has grown avocados since 1924!

While I was down there, I recorded a podcast interview with CEO Brian Kocher, so stay tuned for that!

2. Soup for You! (A Giveaway!)

Do you follow me on Instagram? There’s a yummy little giveaway going on right now! To get you ready for soup season, one winner will receive one jar each of Zoup! Good, Really Good® Culinary Concentrate™ chicken, beef, and savory vegan bases! It’s what I used to make Steamed Clams with Broth, and I’ve been using it in so many more recipes! Head on over and enter the giveaway; it ends on Monday, September 26th.

3. Good Pizza in the Bay Area?

Yes, it’s true! I’ll admit, this was something I worried about when I first moved here from the east coast many years ago. I was happy to see one of my favorites listed amongst two Bay Area restaurants that ranked among the best pizzerias in the world.

4. Food and Wine’s Best New Chefs for 2022

Every year, I love seeing who Food and Wine highlight as their best new chefs, and this year, I’m especially excited to see two chefs with Filipino roots selected! Melissa Miranda of Musang in Seattle and Tim Flores of Chicago’s Kasama were amongst Food and Wine’s Best New Chefs 2022!

5. Boyfriends (and Hubbies) on Errands

I think many of us can relate to this SNL skit with Selena Gomez 🤣

Stay joyful!
