Five Little Things
Five Little Things I loved the week of November 3, 2011: persimmons, the cutest Halloween costume, golden light, and more!

Welcome to November, friends! That felt weird typing it — then again, when November rolls around, it always feels like it’s a big surprise, even if it shouldn’t be. But here we are, with 60 days left in the year. It’s a good reminder to savor these autumn days before the holiday rush sets in!
Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:
1. Golden Autumn Light
There’s something about this time of year where the light here in the Bay Area is simply magical. It feels like golden hour lasts for hours and hours, and I never tire of seeing the light play on the leaves that are changing colors. Last Sunday, we dropped by a local winery, and the leaves on the vines looked like stained glass – just beautiful!
2. Persimmons
Speaking of golden, I can’t get enough of the sweet persimmons in the markets right now! I love them freshly sliced, of course, but I adore them in my Kale Persimmon Salad and Persimmon Apple Crumb Pie!
3. A Wholesome Engagement
Seeing these sweet friends help with an engagement made me miss my old friends from high school! It’s just the type of thing they would do.
4. Birthday Happiness
Nothing will tug at your heartstring more than this moment.
5. And Halloween Costume Award Goes To…
This guy!
Stay joyful!
