Seven more days. We’re in the throes of a countdown, to the last day of school. It’s that time of year when I feel as though I am at the school more than my children, though of course, we know that’s not quite true. But between field trips, spring performances and end of the year class parties — along with several deadlines thrown in for good measure — this mama is eagerly counting down with as much excitement as the little ones. Each night I pack their lunches and scribble on their napkin: “7 more days until you become a 2nd grader! Woo hoo!” (Although, I will admit that the idea of having a 2nd grader and 5th grader next fall terrifies me. It’s going a little too fast.)

As we wind down, I have no choice but to let my children take the lead. Their schedule dominates mine, and so when it comes to dinner, sometimes it’s great to have their cravings guide me for inspiration. The last time I asked my son to have his pick for dinner, we ended up with this: Linguine with Clams. I’m sharing the recipe on, and you can find the recipe HERE.

The end of the school year is insane, isn’t it? It seems like they cram so much into the end. My kids have 4 days left, then they will be 5&6 graders. It really does fly! This linguine and clam dish is one of my husbands favorite dishes. I’m going to have to try it out!

I can eat this everyday and not tire of it–one of my favorites! I love the picture of the clams in the colander!

Something in the air! I have seeing pasta and seafood everywhere!! I think maybe I am actually craving it :)) I love this simple dish because it says so much in flavors with so little fuss!! Nice one Liren!

Time does go by far, far, too fast. I remember my mom crying when I rode away on the school bus for the first time after graduating kindergarten. (Now that I’m an adult, I understand why parents can look so sad sometimes.)

This beautiful linguini dish, however, looks delicious enough to cheer away any time-fleeting, existential, blues. :D

I just got ping back from you and I got excited to jump over here to find out that we shared the same/similar recipe on the same day! I feel a special connection to you haha! Thank you for including my link, Liren! My son’s school ends this Friday and oh boy what a relief! I continues with your napkin tradition for my son ever since I found out how you do it (thank you for the great idea!). Just checked your recipe and photos – beautiful and delicious! Thanks again! xo
