Five Little Things
Five Little Things I loved the week of August 8, 2020: wine windows, baseball fans, street art, and more!
Here are Five Little Things I loved this week:
It’s zucchini season, and I can’t get enough! Of course, there are all the things you can do with zucchini noodles and ribbons — I reshared my Zucchini, Corn and Pesto Flatbreads, but there are also Sweet and Spicy Crispy Tofu with Zucchini Noodles, Spicy Shrimp with Zucchini Noodles, and Zucchini Noodles with Chicken and Tangy Peanut Sauce!
2. Medieval Wine Windows

An amazing tradition has found its place in the world yet again… Wine windows in Florence, Italy. In Tuscany during the 1600s – during the Black Plague – wine windows popped up in the city for the safe sale of wine, without direct contact between client and seller. Some enterprising Florentine wine window owners have now turned back the clock. They are using their buchette deli vino to dispense glasses of wine, cups of coffee, drinks, sandwiches and ice cream—all germ-free, contactless! #winewindow #buchettedelvino
3. A Seat at the Game
How do you fill a stadium in current times? With fan cutouts! You never know who’ll be seated next to you!
4. Tiny Love Stories
We need to spread more love, and my sister shared these Tiny Love Stories in the New York Times with me…if you haven’t read them yet, I pass them on to you! Can you share a love story in 100 words or less?
5. Cracking…a Smile
I know I’ve shared sidewalk artists before, but now more than ever, we need more artists like David Zinn. And we need to tap our own inner creativity and smile!
